Daniel Zellman, CMT.
I view massage as an integrative and collaborative process — about listening deeply and meeting clients where they are; about being present and open; about being deliberate and intentional, and, most of all, effective.
Combining a variety of clinical massage modalities with mindfulness techniques and a passionate dedication to alleviating suffering, I specialize in connecting with each client to craft a unique session that addresses individual concerns within the context of a relaxing and rejuvenating mindfulness-based therapeutic massage.
Since my graduation from the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School, in Austin, TX, in 2012 (where I studied Swedish, Sports, Deep, and Prenatal massage, among other modalities), I have completed several hundred hours of advanced training in Oncology and Hospice massage, Myofascial Release, and Trigger Point Release. And while my reputation as one of northern Humboldt’s deepest “Deep Tissue” practitioners is well deserved, I am also very much aware — having worked extensively with elderly, vulnerable, and medically frail populations — that the gentlest touch often has the deepest impact.
Although massage is among the things I enjoy most, I do have other interests as well: I’m an avid long-distance hiker, wilderness enthusiast, and animal lover; a sourdough bread baker and aspiring gardener; and a student of the Dharma and committed meditator. Before becoming a massage therapist, I spent many years working in the nonprofit sector, teaching English, and traveling the country and the world.
